Jollettes Gymnastics

Over 50 Years of Gymnastics in WA

Renay Jol

The founder of Jollettes Gymnastics was Nelleck Jol OMA who started Women's Gymnastics in 1953, subsequently sending 7 Olympians to represent Australia - starting in Rome inclusive to Atlanta - as well as officiating at and sending various champions to overseas competitions. She is affectionately known as the Australian "Mother of Gymnastics" having coached thousands of children. Nelleck retired and was awarded Gymnastics Australia “Life Membership” and the “Order of Australia” OMA for services to the sport and promoting fitness in children.

Her daughter Renay Jol took over the Jollettes Gymnastics in 1991. Renay has been involved in gymnastics all her life and is a fully accredited WG Level 2 coach, Kindergym and General Gymnastics coach with the Gymnastics Australia. She has also completed coaching courses interstate and in the USA. In 2000 Renay was awarded the “Australian Sports Medal” for her support and service to gymnastics and sport.

In 2008 Jollettes Gymnastics became the first gymnastic club in Australia to Franchise. This resulted from a very extensive Risk Management and Succession Planning process. Seven of our most experienced and longest-serving Head Coaches became franchisees, taking over the entire operational side of their centres. The franchising process was a lengthy one involving input from all of our original franchisees and has been successfully implemented over the last few years. The franchisees still have significant support from Renay as the franchisor and still enjoy the benefit of her vast experience and expertise. All Jollettes centres still operate under the same rules, processes and procedures as they always have, and are committed to providing the same level of safe, fun and quality gymnastics to children of all abilities.
